Hakki Pikki people of Hassan seek help from CM to bring a woman of the community back from Ivory Coast

The Hakki Pikki community of Angadihalli in Belur taluk, Hassan, has appealed to Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to help bring back a woman from the village who fell ill during a visit to the Ivory Coast.
A group of villagers met senior officers of the Hassan district administration on Friday and submitted a plea addressed to the Chief Minister. They said Somu and Jyothi, a Hakki Pikki couple from Angadihalli, had travelled to the Ivory Coast four months ago to sell plant extracts.
Jyothi, 46, was admitted to a hospital in Abidjan after she complained of high fever and later slipped into a coma. Her husband, Somu, said he was finding it difficult to pay the medical bills and arrange her return to India, and had appealed to relatives at home for help.
