H.D. Revanna makes allegations against Hassan DC

JD(S) leader H.D. Revanna has accused the Hassan Deputy Commissioner of politically motivated interference in the reservation of gram panchayat wards. He has threatened to protest if the official does not provide a clarification.
Why it matters
Allegations of political interference in local administrative processes can undermine public trust in democratic institutions.
Former Minister and JD(S) leader H.D. Revanna has alleged that the Hassan Deputy Commissioner altered the reservation of several wards of gram panchayats in the district, yielding to political pressure from the ruling party.
Addressing a press conference in Hassan on Saturday, Mr. Revanna said the Deputy Commissioner had changed the reservation of many wards in the district, ignoring the recommendations of the tahsildars concerned.
“The Deputy Commissioner has to clarify on what grounds she changed the reservation pattern for the wards, ignoring the recommendations of the tahsildars. In certain wards, seats have been reserved for categories that have hardly any population there,” he said.
