H.C. Yogesh appointed Shivamogga DCC president
The Congress Party has appointed H.C. Yogesh as the new president of the Shivamogga District Congress Committee. Yogesh, a former city corporation member, replaces R. Prasanna Kumar in the role.

The Congress Party has chosen H.C. Yogesh, former member of Shivamogga City Corporation, who contested for Shivamogga assembly seat on the Congress ticket in the 2023 assembly elections, to head the Shivamogga District Congress Committee.
The 48-year-old Yogesh hails from the family associated with the Congress for many years. His father H.M. Chandrashekharappa was elected to the State assembly from Shivamogga constituency in 1999.
Mr. Yogesh earlier served as secretary of the Youth Congress. In the 2023 Assembly election, he lost to S.N. Channabasappa of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The All India Congress Committee, on Wednesday, cleared the names for 35 District Congress Committees. Mr. Yogesh replaces R. Prasanna Kumar, former MLC, who had held the post since April 2024.
