Guntur villages to get 177 houses with 3D-printed walls under PMAY-G pilot: Pemmasani
The Indian government is launching a pilot project in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, to construct 177 rural houses using 3D concrete printing technology. This initiative under PMAY-G 2.0 aims to test the durability and cost-effectiveness of modern construction methods in rural settings.
Why it matters
It represents a significant shift toward integrating advanced construction technology into government-subsidized housing programs.
Houses with 3D-printed concrete walls are to be built in two villages of Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district under a Central pilot project to test the technology for rural housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) 2.0 . Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch the project at Burripalem near Tenali on October 4, Union Minister of State for Rural Development Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar said on Thursday (October 1, 2026).
The houses will be built using 3D Concrete Printing (3DCP) technology, with technical support from the CSIR-Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee.
Under the proposal, 177 houses will be constructed in the two villages. Of these, 100 houses are proposed at Burripalem in Tenali mandal and 77 at Obulnaidupalem/Pothuru in Guntur Rural mandal. Beneficiaries include eligible SC, ST and other categories identified under the project proposal.
