Guntur police launch ‘Stop – Wash and Go’ drive to prevent road accidents
Guntur police have launched a 'Stop – Wash and Go' initiative to combat fatigue-related road accidents among long-distance drivers. The program encourages drivers to take brief rest stops at designated areas to improve alertness during night travel.

The Guntur district police have intensified visible policing and vehicle checks across the district to prevent road accidents during night hours and ensure the safety of motorists, following directions from Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal.
As part of the initiative, special vehicle inspections are being conducted at the Guntur tollgate, national highways, major junctions, busy areas and accident-prone locations. Highway patrol teams are conducting continuous patrols and checking vehicles from night until early morning.
The police have introduced the “Stop – Wash and Go” programme to prevent fatigue-related accidents involving lorry, bus and other drivers who travel for long hours at night. Drivers are being advised to stop briefly, take rest, wash their faces with water and resume their journey only after becoming alert.
