Gunmen abduct Zamfara LGA chairman, kill four security operatives
Gunmen abducted the chairman of the Bungudu local government area in Zamfara state, Nigeria, killing four security personnel during the attack. Security forces have launched a coordinated rescue operation to locate the official and his family members.

Some unidentified gunmen on Saturday abducted Nura Abdullahi, chairman of Bungudu local government area of Zamfara state.
Abdullahi was abducted at about 11pm from his official residence, alongside Halliru Soja, a staff of the Federal Medical Centre, and a POS operator.
Four security personnel attached to the chairman were killed during the attack, while Bello Abdullahi, the chairman’s brother, sustained injuries.
The victims were identified as Basiru Lawal, a police inspector; Hamza Muhammad, a police constable; and two vigilantes, the chairman’s ADC and Ibrahim Baare.
