The Delhi Cabinet, in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, approved the construction of a 250-bed super-speciality-cum-trauma block in Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital in Dilshad Garden under the Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), the Chief Minster’s Office stated in a release on Wednesday.

The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday.

The new block, to be built within the hospital campus, is estimated to cost ₹244.87 crore and is expected to be completed by 2028, the release added.

PMSSY is a central government scheme aimed at modernising and improving medical facilities at government hospitals through a cost-sharing partnership between the Centre and States.
