GTA 6 Region Locks Raise More Questions About PSN's Flaky Infrastructure
Sony's PlayStation Network (PSN) faces criticism for its restrictive regional locking policies, which complicate access for users in unsupported countries. The issue is particularly relevant for upcoming releases like GTA 6, which require PSN account integration.

Officially, PSN is only supported in a handful of countries.
This is an issue that dates all the way back to the origins of Sony’s online network, and it’s generally been accepted that the “workaround” is to create an account in another nearby country, spoofing the address.
If you’re like me, you’ll have multiple PSN accounts – I have one in the UK, US, Japan, and Hong Kong, for example. Sometimes you want to buy or download a game that’s not available in your own region.
I’ve never had any of these accounts banned or disabled, but I assume “technically” it’s not supported by the terms of service. It’s one of those quirks of the PSN that everyone’s just, well, accepted.
