At the Salem Collectorate people who came to submit their petitions were allowed to enter after being checked by the police. District Collector K. Elambahavath presided over the meeting and received the petitions from the public. A total of 470 petitions, including seeking old age pension, land patta, patta transfer, community certificate, job opportunities, bank loans, educational assistance, assistance for persons with disabilities, equipment, drinking water, and road facilities. The Collector also received 12 petitions from persons with disabilities and instructed officials concerned to take action on the petitions at a stipulated time. He also handed over artificial limbs worth ₹15.07 lakh to 12 beneficiaries.
