The 33-year-old played an instrumental part in downing the United States at Lahinch golf club , turning over a three-point deficit before the final singles session after being wiped out in the morning foursomes to succeed 13.5 to 12.5.
Grehan again leading the way against the world's number one amateur Preston Stout. The Offaly man came from two down with three to play to beat the Texan on Saturday, while on Sunday’s singles he was two down after the opening two holes before again getting the better of his illustrious opponent.
In June Grehan captured the attention with victory in the Amateur Championship at Royal Liverpoo l, earning exemptions into this year’s Open Championship, as well as the 2027 Masters and US Open.
