Greg Rusedski suggests if he thinks Alexander Zverev now deserves to be world number one over Jannik Sinner

Alexander Zverev will be hoping to dethrone Jannik Sinner as world number one by the end of the season.

Sinner has been world number one since April after beginning his third reign following the Monte Carlo Masters , where he beat Carlos Alcaraz in the final.

However, after Sinner withdrew from the US Open due to a knee injury, Zverev has closed the gap on the world number one after winning the title in New York.

Zverev can overtake Sinner as world number one by the end of the year, and former US Open finalist Greg Rusedski has revealed if he thinks the German deserves to hold this position.

Sinner leads Zverev in the official ATP rankings by 1,810 points, but it is actually the latter who has the advantage in the battle to end the year as world number one.
