<p>NEW YORK - A Filipino green card holder was deported, while a Filipina nurse who reportedly had a valid work permit and was employed at a hospital was arrested and detained amid heightened immigration enforcement across the United States.</p><p>In California, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) deported a Filipino green card holder who had lived in the US for more than two decades.</p><p>According to DHS, he was deported on August 18, 2026, after an immigration judge issued a final order of removal against him on July 2.</p><p>DHS identified the Filipino as a member of the Asian Boys gang and said his criminal record in California included convictions for voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault with a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance.</p><p>He entered the US through California as a lawful permanent resident in April 2004.</p><p>His most serious case stemmed from the October 27, 2018, killing of a US Navy sailor on…
