Granada earthquake LIVE: Spain rocked by huge tremor as Malaga in quake zone
A magnitude 3.7 earthquake struck near Granada, Spain, causing alarm among local residents who reported hearing loud noises and feeling significant shaking. While no major damage was immediately reported, the region remains one of the most earthquake-prone areas in mainland Spain.

Granada in Spain has been rocked by an earthquake as locals panic over tremors that "felt like an explosion". The earthquake occurred 3.73 miles (6km) South of Granada at 3.46pm local time (2.46pm BST).
The Mediterranean Seismological Centre said the earthquake measured a magnitude of 3.7. The earthquake had its epicentre in the town of Ogíjares, at a depth of 6 kilometres, although the National Geographic Institute initially located the epicentre in La Malahá at a depth of 10 kilometres. An aftershock was felt in Armilla, with a magnitude of 1.7 and a depth of 6 kilometers.
The local said: "Earthquake with epicenter in Ogíjares. Loud noise and shaking!"
Granada sits atop several active fault lines, meaning it is one of the most earthquake-prone areas in mainland Spain.
