Water technology company Gradiant is expanding its India operations with five new design-and-build contracts across the semiconductor, printed circuit board (PCB) and solar manufacturing sectors, while planning to increase its India workforce by more than 40% this year.

The Woburn, Massachusetts-based company -- which designs, builds and operates water treatment systems for industries including semiconductors, data centres, energy and other industrial sectors. -- said orders in India were on track to more than double this year, while revenue was expected to more than triple.

Gradiant has also appointed Hari Prasad as Managing Director, India. Mr. Prasad brings nearly three decades of experience in water technology and was most recently General Manager, Industrial Water at Pentair. He has previously held senior positions across India, the Middle East and Africa.

Gradiant currently generates annual revenue of about $500 million-$750 million, with India contributing around 10%
