Government has cautioned the public against relying on unverified social media information regarding the succession of the late Omukama of Tooro, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, revealing that formal guidance on the transition will be communicated after consultations with President Museveni and the kingdom’s leadership.
Addressing journalists on Wednesday evening at the late king's royal residence in Buziga, Kampala, the Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development, Gen (Rtd) Henry Tumukunde, said the state and cultural authorities are committed to maintaining order and legality throughout the transition process.
