Govt. revisiting guarantee schemes to ensure the deserving get benefits, says CM
Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced that the state government is revising beneficiary lists for guarantee schemes to prevent misuse of public funds. He also mandated that government officers reside in their assigned headquarters to improve public grievance redressal.

“The State government is revisiting some guarantee schemes to see that they reach the deserving beneficiaries,’’ Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said in Gadag on Tuesday.
“I have given instructions to senior officers to revise the list of beneficiaries of various schemes like Gruha Lakshmi and Gruha Jyoti. This is to make sure that there are no leakages and no misuse of public funds. We want to make sure that only the deserving get the benefits,’’ he said.
He said he would appeal to all deserving beneficiaries to enrol their names on the guarantee schemes with proper documents. “Beneficiaries must give their phone numbers as they are linked to their bank accounts. If they give the phone numbers of third parties, then there will be no fund transfer, and therefore, it will not be considered,’’ he said.
