The government on Tuesday (September 1, 2026) reintroduced levy on petrol exports and aviation turbine fuel (ATF).
The government reintroduced export levy on petrol at ₹1.5/litre, though export levy on diesel remains unchanged at ₹24/litre.
The government also lowered the export levy on ATF to ₹19.5/litre.
Amid escalating tensions in West Asia, the Government imposed an export duty on diesel and ATF on March 27 and revised the rate every fortnight. Beginning May 16, the levy was imposed on petrol exports.
