Govt orders encroachers to vacate Koboko airfield for upgrade

Works and Transport Minister Fred Byamukama has directed residents occupying part of the land belonging to the defunct Arumaji airfield in Koboko District to prepare to vacate the premises because the government is in the process of reclaiming the land and expanding and reviving the airfield to airport status.

Mr Byamukama, flanked by other ministers including the State Minister for ICT, Mr Odria York Alionzi, State Minister for Health Dr Charles Ayume, and State Minister for Cooperatives, Mr Alero Tom Aza, all hailing from the region, informed residents that the government is in advanced plans of expanding the airfield.
