Govt. Medical College, Kottayam, wins Basheer Award for college magazines

The Government Medical College in Kottayam has been awarded the Basheer Award for its college magazine. Several other educational institutions in Kerala also received prizes and consolation awards for their publications.

The Government Medical College, Kottayam, has won the Basheer Award for college magazines, instituted by Bankmens Club, a Kozhikode-based cultural organisation. The second prize has gone to Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University, Tirur, and the third prize to PSMO College, Tirurangadi. Farook College, Kozhikode, University of Kerala campus, Thiruvananthapuram, and Government Arts and Science College, Kozhikode, have won consolation prizes. The awards will be presented at an event to be held at the Kozhikode Town Hall on Friday (August 7, 2026).
