Govt. contractors’ association resents “irregularity” in WRD tenders in Pollachi Division
The Tiruppur District Government Contractors’ Association has filed a complaint alleging irregularities and favoritism in Water Resources Department tenders in the Pollachi Division. They have requested an investigation by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.

The Tiruppur District Government Contractors’ Association on Thursday (July 16, 2026) submitted a petition to the Water Resources Minister N. Anand alleging “irregularity” in the tenders pertaining to works in the Pollachi Aliyar Basin Division.
The petition, a copy of which was marked to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), accused the Executive Engineer of the WRD Pollachi Division of “manipulating” the online tender, to be finalised on July 21, with a view to indulging in “favouritism”.
Stating that contractors were unable to submit the proposals through the online portal, functionaries of the association urged the Minister to examine the proposals that have been accepted so far thoroughly, and initiate action against the senior WRD official.
Further, removal of one of the special conditions in the tender process has caused consternation has been flagged by farmers’ associations.
