Government will take steps to lift construction ban in Idukki, says Keralam Minister

The State government will take steps to lift the construction ban in Idukki district, Revenue Minister A.P. Anilkumar said on Thursday (September 24, 2026).

Speaking to the media at Cheruthoni, the Minister said the government would remove hurdles regarding the felling of trees grown by farmers on title deed (pattayam) lands. He noted that the government will also take steps to renew the Cardamom Kuthakapattam (lease) before September 30.

“Revenue officials must behave courteously toward people who visit offices with land-related grievances,” the Minister warned.

The Minister was speaking after inaugurating the district-level title deed distribution fest at Cheruthoni on Thursday. “As part of the 100-day action plan, nearly 7,000 title deeds have been distributed across the State so far. Once the Palakkad district-level fest concludes, the total number of title deeds distributed is expected to cross 10,000,” Mr. Anilkumar said.
