The Delhi government will launch the ‘Vayo Anand’ scheme for senior citizens, under which recreational centres will be developed for senior citizens where they can play indoor games, meet and interact with one another and take part in social activities, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said on Friday (August 28, 2026).

The recreational centres will provide senior citizens with facilities such as indoor games, including carrom and ludo, seating arrangements, fans, coolers, televisions and computers. Newspapers, magazines and books will also be kept at the centres and yoga and meditation classes will also be organised for senior citizens, as per the CMO.

The government will provide financial assistance of ₹2.4 lakh to organisations to such recreational centres.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said senior citizens of Delhi are an invaluable asset to society and that ensuring their dignity, health, active lifestyle and social engagement is a priority of her government.
