Government pushes for better nutrition

DODOMA: MINISTER for Agriculture, Daniel Chongolo, has urged Tanzanians to prioritise nutritious diets to promote healthy growth and improve their quality of life as the country prepares to mark World Food Day 2026.
Speaking to journalists in Dodoma, Mr Chongolo said the annual event, observed on October 16, reminds the public of the collective responsibility to ensure every citizen has access to adequate, safe and nutritious food while building strong, inclusive and sustainable food systems.
He said Tanzania will mark the 46th World Food Day this year, with national celebrations scheduled to take place at Usagara grounds in Tanga Region from October 10 to 16.
“The celebrations remind us of our collective responsibility to ensure every citizen gets adequate, safe and nutritious food while building strong, inclusive and sustainable agricultural and food systems,” he said.
