The government of Uganda has initiated steps to acquire an additional 600 acres of land in Gombe Division, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District, to facilitate the expansion of Dei BioPharma Limited’s pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing facility.
The proposed expansion, targeting Wabitembe, Kiryowa, and Kigoogwa villages, aims to scale up the local production of advanced medicines, vaccines, and specialized therapies for both domestic consumption and international export markets. Speaking during a community meeting with local residents and senior government officials, Dr Matthias Magoola, the founder of Dei BioPharma Limited, explained that the additional land is crucial for building new production lines and meeting stringent international manufacturing standards required to export pharmaceuticals to regions such as the United States.
