Government keen to bring foreign university campuses to KWIN City: Minister M.B. Patil
The Karnataka government is working to attract foreign universities to the new KWIN City development. Several global institutions have already signed agreements, and the state is exploring build-to-suit models to accommodate them.
Why it matters
The development of specialized industrial and educational hubs is a key strategy for regional economic growth and global integration.
Eight leading companies, including Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited, and 14 other entities have entered into agreements for KWIN City, being developed between Doddaballapura and Dabaspet. Some foreign universities have sought buildings tailored to their specific requirements under a build-to-suit model, said Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil.
The government is considering an appropriate model to meet these requirements, the Minister told the Legislative Council on Friday (August 21).
