The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is now processing the return of the bodies of two Filipino seafarers who died in a “security incident” involving an unknown projectile that hit a Saudi-operated oil tanker while travelling the Strait of Hormuz on Aug. 31. DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said the same processing is being done for the 14 Filipino crew of the Saudi Arabia's national shipping company-owned vessel who survived the attack unharmed. “The DMW continues to closely monitor the condition and situation of the remaining Filipino crew members and is coordinating with Philippine government posts and relevant authorities in the region to ensure their safe and immediate return to the Philippines,” said Cacdac.
