Google data centre in Visakhapatnam will use air-cooling technology: MP
A local MP in Visakhapatnam has confirmed that Google's upcoming data center will utilize air-cooling technology to address environmental concerns regarding water usage. The official dismissed fears about the facility's impact on local water supply and radiation levels.

Amid growing concerns over the high water consumption of the Google data centre coming up in Visakhapatnam, MP M. Sribharat said on Saturday that the facility would use air-cooling technology and not water.
“Google has, on record, confirmed that it will use air-cooling technology. But even if all the upcoming data centres use water-cooling technology, there is no question of any impact on the water supply to Visakhapatnam,” he said.
Speaking to select media persons at his residence in Visakhapatnam, Mr. Sribharat ridiculed the criticism from various sections, including civil society, over the adverse impact of setting up data centres in the Steel City.
