Google announced the launch of its new AI model, Gemini 3.8, with two variants consisting of Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber.

Touting the company’s “most intelligent workhorse model,” Google said that Gemini 3.8 Flash would improve in areas such as software engineering, agentic tasks, and critical multi-step reasoning in specialised domains.

It will temporarily be available at the same introductory price as 3.7 Flash, which was $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens.

Meanwhile, Google described Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber as its “most capable cybersecurity model with frontier-level performance in vulnerability detection and automated patching,” noting that it was available for trusted defenders taking part in its programme.

On the safety front, Google said that 3.8 Flash included safeguards to prevent misuse through chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and cyber offences.
