Good Samaritans sought after helping assaulted girl home

New Zealand police are seeking a couple who assisted a young girl following an assault in Invercargill on October 2. Authorities hope these witnesses can provide crucial information to aid the ongoing investigation.
Why it matters
Public appeals for witnesses are essential for law enforcement to gather evidence and ensure justice in criminal cases.
A couple who helped a girl to safety after she was assaulted in Invercargill are being urged to come forward. Acting Detective Sergeant Chris Guild said the assault at Queens Park occurred on October 2, and two young people arrested in relation to the incident appeared in Invercargill Youth Court last week. "Police are now appealing for any witnesses of the assault to please come forward. In particular, we want to speak with the good Samaritans who picked up the victim and took them home," he said.
