Goh Pei Ming's son finishes PSLE, but has to solve 'final Math question' to unlock laptop

Singaporean Senior Minister of State Goh Pei Ming created a custom math challenge based on the PSLE exam to help his son unlock his laptop. The gesture served as a playful way to celebrate the end of his son's primary school examinations while expressing pride in his efforts.
Why it matters
The PSLE is a high-stakes national examination in Singapore, and this story highlights the cultural emphasis on academic achievement and parental involvement.
The Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) might be over, but this Primary 6 student had one final Math question to solve — this time, to unlock his laptop.
Senior Minister of State for Social and Family Development Goh Pei Ming posed the challenge to his son in a heartfelt letter which was shared to social media on Wednesday (Sept 30).
"You've earned a good break and your laptop back. Just one small problem. It has a six-digit PIN," Goh said in the note.
To obtain the password to his laptop, the boy had to complete the Math problem, which was inspired by one of this year's PSLE Mathematics question — a reference that parents of Primary 6 children would likely recognise.
