Godavari drinking water project work begins in Nidadavolu
Minister Kandula Durgesh performed the ground-breaking ceremony for a new ₹94.31 crore water grid project in Nidadavolu. The project aims to provide safe drinking water to all households in the municipality by 2028 under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme.

Minister for Tourism and Culture and Nidadavolu MLA Kandula Durgesh on Wednesday performed bhumi puja for ₹94.31 crore water grid project under the AMRUT 2.0 (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) scheme at Nidadavolu in East Godavari district.
The Godavari water will be drawn from Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage at Vijjeswaram to supply to every household in the Nidadavolu municipality by January 2028.
“The water grid project includes laying water grid, 10 MLD of water purification plant and a 90-kilometer-long pipeline to supply the drinking water to every household in the Nidadavolu municipality,” said Mr. Durgesh.
