GMet warns of thunderstorms, heavy rain in north-eastern parts of Ghana

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has warned of moderate to heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds expected to affect parts of northern Ghana.

In a weather alert, GMet said the system was approaching the north-eastern parts of the country and was expected to affect the Upper East, North East and Northern regions first, with rainfall likely to begin within the next hour.

The weather system is forecast to move westwards later in the day, bringing rainfall to the Upper West and Savannah regions.
