Global framework brings arts and cultural engagement into mainstream global health

Researchers have published a new roadmap in The Lancet to integrate arts and cultural engagement into global health systems. The initiative aims to use music, theater, and visual arts as evidence-based tools for clinical care and disease prevention.

Based on a wealth of international evidence, the roadmap is outlined in the Jameel Arts & Health Lab–Lancet Global Collection on Arts and Health.
Professor Agustín Ibáñez, of the Global Brain Health Institute at Trinity College Dublin, is a co-author of both cornerstone papers in the collection, alongside an international group of researchers, health experts and leaders in arts and culture. The papers appear in The Lancet .
