There were also wins for GM Magnus Carlsen 's Alpine APL Pipers, who scraped a 10-8 win over GM Maxime Vachier-Lagrave 's CheQ Mumba Masters, while Ganges Grandmasters, led by GM Ian Nepomniachtchi , won by an even narrower 10-9 to be the second team of the day to defeat Firouzja's Triveni Continental Kings - the winner of the 2023 and 2024 editions of the event.
Day two starts on Sunday, September 6, at 6 a.m. ET / 12:00 CEST / 3:30 p.m. IST.
