GIMPA crowned African champions at Christof Heyns Moot Court Competition

The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) Law School has been crowned continental champions after winning the 35th Christof Heyns African Human Rights Moot Court Competition in Côte d’Ivoire, securing one of the biggest achievements in the institution’s history and reaffirming Ghana’s growing reputation in legal advocacy and human rights education.
Competition organisers announced that the Respondent Team, jointly represented by GIMPA and Université Thomas Sankara of Burkina Faso, emerged winners of the 35th edition of the prestigious competition.
The Applicant Team, jointly represented by Makerere University of Uganda and the University of Lagos in Nigeria, finished as runners-up.
The victory followed an outstanding campaign by GIMPA, which advanced from a field of 43 English-speaking universities in the preliminary rounds to reach the quarter-finals. GIMPA was one of only three Ghanaian institutions to progress that far, alongside the University of Ghana and Pentecost University.
