GHMC town planning official caught taking ₹4 lakh bribe, ₹2.5 lakh unaccounted cash seized

A Town Planning Supervisor with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was caught by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday (October 5, 2026) while allegedly accepting ₹4 lakh as part payment of an ₹8 lakh bribe to allow a complainant to proceed with building construction.
The accused officer, Tulasiram Sunitha, is a Town Planning Supervisor at GHMC’s Golconda Zone, Circle 33, Mehdipatnam.
According to the ACB, Sunitha allegedly demanded ₹8 lakh to ignore speaking orders issued by the GHMC Deputy Commissioner, allow the complainant to continue with the building construction, refrain from causing further harassment and extend cooperation in the future.
ACB City Range-I officials caught her while she was allegedly accepting ₹4 lakh as part payment of the demanded amount. The tainted money was recovered from her possession.
