A 46-year-old GHMC driver died after allegedly consuming a pesticide following a domestic quarrel while under the influence of alcohol in Shamshabad on Saturday. Police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to the Shamshabad police, the deceased was identified as Nagaram Ganesh, a resident of Peddagolkonda village in Shamshabad. He is survived by his wife, Nagaram Amrutha, and their two daughters.
In her complaint, Amrutha stated that Ganesh, who worked as a driver with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), had a habit of consuming alcohol daily and frequently quarrelled with her after drinking.
On Saturday at around 3 p.m., Ganesh returned home in an intoxicated state, picked a quarrel with his wife, assaulted her, took ₹500 from the house and left.
