--> Ghana is preparing to begin construction of a 13.5-kilometer access road to the site of the first exploratory well in the onshore Voltaian Basin. The planned site is located in Chegu, Mion District.

A delegation from the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and its operating subsidiary, GNPC Explorco, inspected the site to assess the area's readiness and identify priority engineering and civil works ahead of drilling, MyJoyOnline reports .

GNPC Explorco Managing Director Samuel Opoku Arthur said that construction of the road to the future well is expected to begin in the coming weeks. According to him, this is to become the next stage of project preparation.
