GFA, Carlos Queiroz agree to terminate Black Stars coaching contract

The Ghana Football Association ( GFA ) and Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz have mutually agreed to terminate his service agreement, according to the GFA.
The decision follows discussions between the two parties, who agreed to end their professional relationship under the current circumstances.
In a statement released by the GFA, Queiroz said the decision was not easy but was taken with the interests of Ghana, the Black Stars and Ghanaian football in mind.
He said he had hoped to help build a stronger future for the Black Stars and support the development of Ghanaian talent, but the conditions he considered necessary were not fully established.
Queiroz also referred to the team’s recent performance as a factor in the decision.
The Portuguese coach thanked the GFA, its president, his technical staff and the players for their support during his tenure.
