Germany Says Indonesia Will Get Its $20 Billion Anti
Germany has reaffirmed its commitment to Indonesia's $20 billion Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) aimed at phasing out coal. Despite the US withdrawal from the funding group, Germany has assumed a leadership role to ensure infrastructure projects continue.

A German minister assured Indonesia that it would get its promised climate funding of at least $20 billion, citing that a portion of the money had already gained approval for use.
The Just Energy Transition Partnership is a 2022 agreement signed by Indonesia to wean off coal. The deal binds rich countries and lenders to help fund Jakarta's shift to clean power.
German Economic Cooperation Minister Reem Alabali Radovan said on Wednesday that Indonesia should now be able to use some of the money.
"Through the JETP, $20 billion is being mobilized for Indonesia's energy transition. Roughly half of this comes from public sources and the other half from the private sector," Alabali Radovan told a climate forum in Jakarta, despite mentioning the older figure.
