GCC to intensify dengue prevention measures amid intermittent rains
The Greater Chennai Corporation has intensified dengue prevention measures following intermittent rains. Health officials are conducting house-to-house inspections and monitoring potential mosquito breeding sites across the city.

Amid intermittent rain, the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has instructed health inspectors to intensify field and house-to-house inspections for mosquito breeding, ensure dengue breeding control (DBC) workers begin field work at 7 a.m., and ask the public to remove objects where water could stagnate.
The instructions were issued at a review meeting on dengue and other fevers in the city on Thursday, chaired by GCC Commissioner G.S. Sameeran.
According to a press release, Mr. Sameeran reviewed the incidence of dengue and other fevers during August and September with zonal health officers, health inspectors and mosquito-control workers. He instructed health inspectors in areas reporting fever cases to intensify mosquito-control work and closely review the work of field staff, the release said.
