GCC detects, eliminates mosquito breeding sources in 4,192 houses during field inspections

Mosquito breeding sources were detected and eliminated in 4,192 houses during field inspections carried out in 11,02,385 houses across Chennai between September 14 and 19, according to the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC).

According to a press release, fever surveillance has been intensified and persons discharged after treatment for fever are being monitored for three days. Fogging operations, larval control measures, and enforcement action against mosquito breeding sources are also being undertaken.

GCC Commissioner G.S. Sameeran on Monday inspected fever surveillance activities being carried out in houses on Bharathiyar Street and Sundarar Street near Erukkancheri Main Road in Tondiarpet. Zonal health officials and dengue prevention field workers accompanied him during the inspection.
