GBA employees’ association seeks probe into man posing as IAS officer

The Greater Bengaluru Authority Corporations Officers and Employees Welfare Association has lodged a complaint with the Bengaluru city Police Commissioner, seeking legal action against an unidentified person who allegedly impersonated a Joint Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) and misused the name of a Minister.
In its complaint dated September 21, the association said the impersonator had been calling officers and employees of the civic bodies, claiming to be “Shivaprakash, IAS, Joint Secretary, DPAR” and threatening them with fake inquiries.
The caller allegedly told the employees that there were complaints against them and that he had been directed by a Minister to conduct an inquiry. The employees were reportedly asked to appear before the DPAR office on the second floor of Vidhana Soudha for the purported inquiry.
