GBA Chief Commissioner pushes new curing technique for white-topping works
Greater Bengaluru Authority Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao has ordered a pilot program to test geotextile sheets for concrete curing in white-topping road projects. He also issued directives regarding footpath construction, utility cable management, and the removal of encroachments to ensure project quality and efficiency.

In a bid to improve the quality of white-topping works, Greater Bengaluru Authority Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to conduct a pilot using geotextile sheets or curing blankets instead of conventional gunny bags for curing concrete over a 100-metre stretch and assess their effectiveness.
The direction was issued during an inspection of ongoing white-topping works under the Bengaluru North City Corporation on Friday. Mr. Rao stressed that there should be no compromise on quality and that all projects must be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
He inspected works at Amruthahalli Main Road, Jakkur Railway Overbridge (ROB), Jakkur Road (Raitha Santhe Road), Allalasandra Road, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar Road, and 20th Cross in Sahakaranagar.
On Amruthahalli Main Road, where an 800-metre white-topping project is under way, with 400 metres already completed, Mr. Rao directed officials to begin footpath works immediately and execute them simultaneously with the remaining road works.
