JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) has arrested the alleged mastermind behind a syndicate accused of facilitating illegal electricity connections and stealing infrastructure at Emfuleni Municipality.

The 25-year-old suspect was arrested on Thursday, shortly after being released on bail in an unrelated matter. She is the eighth person to be arrested in connection with the case.

The case against seven other employees attached to the municipality’s Revenue and Electricity departments has been postponed.
