Gang posing as CBI officials arrested in Rohini

A former bar singer, an ex-State Bank of India (SBI) employee and a woman who previously worked at a hotel are among seven persons arrested for allegedly impersonating CBI officials and conducting fake raids to extort money, the Delhi Police said on Monday.
The gang came to light when a mother-son duo in Rohini refused to open their door after the purported officials arrived at their residence.
On August 11, Pratham Aggarwal, a Prashant Vihar resident, reported that persons claiming to be from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrived at his house. They displayed purported CBI identity cards and said they had come to conduct a raid. When Mr. Aggarwal and his mother asked for a search warrant, they allegedly threatened them.
