Ganesh Utsav turns tragic: Woman dies after falling into boiling sambar in Andhra

VIJAYAWADA: Ganesh Utsav celebrations turned tragic in the city after a woman died of severe burn injuries sustained when she accidentally fell into a vessel containing boiling sambar during an ‘annadanam’ (free food donation) programme.The deceased was identified as Sujatha, a resident of Chittinagar in Vijayawada. The incident occurred on September 20, when devotees were organising a free food distribution programme as part of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.According to the available information, Sujatha was involved in cooking arrangements for the annadanam.While the organisers were attempting to move a large vessel of hot sambar, she reportedly lost her balance and accidentally fell into the vessel.She suffered severe burn injuries in the mishap.
