The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi has announced the schedule for the upcoming Ganesh festival in Hyderabad, with idol installations beginning September 14 and mass immersion on September 25. Organizers have coordinated with local government departments to ensure smooth festivities.
Why it matters
The festival is a major cultural and economic event in the region, requiring significant logistical planning and municipal cooperation.
The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi (BGUS) has announced that Ganesh idol installations across the city will commence on September 14, while the mass immersion procession will be held on September 25.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, BGUS president Rajasekhar Reddy, general secretary R. Shashidhar and other office-bearers said immersion arrangements had been made at 150 designated locations, including Vinayaksagar (Hussainsagar), Saroornagar Lake, Ameenpur Lake and Kapra Lake, besides about 110 ponds.
The organisers said extensive preparatory work had been undertaken over the past three months in coordination with the police, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, and other government departments to ensure smooth conduct of the festivities.
