Gambling accused externed from Udupi to Chikkamagaluru

Udupi police have externed a repeat gambling offender, Ramraj, to the Chikkamagaluru district to maintain public peace. The order was issued by the Superintendent of Police acting in his capacity as a Special Executive Magistrate.

Udupi Superintendent of Police (SP) Hariram Shankar on Saturday ordered the externment of Ramraj, 48, an accused in five gambling cases, from Udupi district to Chikkamagaluru district.
In a press note, Mr. Shankar said he exercised his powers as the Special Executive Magistrate to extern Ramraj, a resident of Shivalli village in Udupi taluk, to the limits of Chikkamagaluru Town police station.
