Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 series has set a new pre-order record, surpassing the previous high held by the Galaxy Note 10. High demand has led to shipping delays for the new foldable devices.
Why it matters
This indicates strong consumer interest in foldable smartphone technology and Samsung's market dominance in that segment.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, alongside the Flip 8, has broken 1.44 million sales during the pre-order phase, smashing a record previously set by the Galaxy Note 10.
Without the data, it’s clear that Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 is a popular choice. So much so that the website is struggling to keep up, and Samsung is having to delay shipments as more orders keep coming in.
The latest report shows that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 , Fold 8 Ultra , and Flip 8 have hit a combined 1.44 million units sold during the ongoing pre-order period (via Yonhap News Agency ). The number is expected to continue growing as Samsung ends the pre-order phase on August 7. At that point, every deal that makes the Galaxy Z Fold 8 such a popular device will disappear. At least, until Samsung runs another sales event in a few months.
